Etruscan Revival Sterling Filigree and Citrine
Circa 1900, this sterling silver filigree pendant showcases beautifully delicate beading and scrolls with a large central citrine gemstone.
Etruscan revival styles feature intricate wire work of spirals and patterns. The revival period for this ancient style began in the early 1800s as archaeological discoveries in Italy fueled imagination and a whole new design of art based on the original ancient stylings. These historical inspired reproductions were quite popular during the Victorian era from the late 1800s to around 1900.
Comes with a new sterling silver chain; 18 inches long. The pendant has patina as expected for a piece over 100 years old. Ideally the patina would be retained and not polished off.
The pendant measures approx 1.75 inches in length and width.
