Antique Turkmen Pendant


Made in the 1850s- 1880s, this antique engraved silver amulet pendant has a carnelian centerpiece. Carnelian was believed to protect the wearers from illness and death. Its bright red color symbolizes vitality, fertility and happiness. Around this bezel stone is engraved and gilded abstract designs but the shape itself is called Asyk. This has an opening for you to create your own pendant or hang in your home. 

The Turkmen spanned multiple regions including Russia, Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey and beyond.
